Biography
Tatyana Volkova was born in August 1977 in Balashov, Saratov Region. Her father worked as an electrician, and her mother was a laboratory assistant. As a child, Tatyana enjoyed biathlon and also liked making crafts. She studied at a music college, then at a medical college, and after that graduated from a pedagogical university and began working as a teacher-psychologist.
In 1999, Tatyana married Sergey. In the same year, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Tatyana recalls: "I found answers to the questions that interested me since childhood, one of them — what is the meaning of life." Three years later, her husband also became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Over time, Tatyana left her job and focused on her family. She enjoys growing flowers, learning new things, and reading books. Sergey is an engineer by profession. The family moved to Shchyolkovo because of his work. He enjoys playing chess and sports. Their older daughter works as a technologist, and their son, at the time of their parents' arrest, had finished school and was planning to enroll in college. In her spare time, the daughter enjoys making crafts, riding her bicycle, roller skating, skateboarding, and swimming. She also likes repairing the car with her mother. The son also likes swimming and riding his bicycle.
Early in the morning in June 2026, the Volkhov family was subjected to a search; afterwards, Sergey was placed in a pretrial detention center, and Tatyana was placed under house arrest.
