Case History

In March 2026, a case was initiated in the Nizhny Novgorod Region against several of Jehovah's Witnesses. Law enforcement officers carried out searches of the homes of 18 believers. Yevgeniy Konkov, Anatoliy Chepkasov, Sergey Verkhoturov, and Maksim Kalinin were interrogated and placed in a pretrial detention center. Sergey faced persecution for his faith for the second time. In September, the case went to court.
