Biography

Olga Chirikova was born in Asino, a small town in Tomsk Region. There were five daughters in the family. When Olga was 12, her father died, and her mother had to raise the children on her own. According to Olga, her mother was known for her hospitality, peacefulness, and willingness to help others—qualities she instilled in her daughters.

After finishing school, Olga graduated from a trade school and then completed evening classes at a trade college, qualifying as an accountant. She worked in her field all her life, and in 2013 she retired. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and studying Spanish.

The death of her mother in 1985 was a great shock for Olga. She began to wonder: why do people die? What happens to them after death? She found answers 10 years later when she began studying the Bible. "I learned that after death, people do not suffer anywhere; they simply sleep in death and there will be a resurrection of the dead," she says. "For me, that was a great relief." In 1997 Olga was baptized.

After a criminal case was initiated in 2022, Olga was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list and all her bank cards were blocked. Despite poor health, she had to find work—until her detention in August 2026, she cleaned apartments.

Case History

In April 2019, a search was conducted at Olga Chirikova’s home as part of a case against other believers from Novosibirsk. In January 2022, a criminal case was initiated against her for participating in the activity of an extremist organization. In May of that year, a court ruling was issued to charge her as a defendant, but she did not receive the actual document until August 2026, when she was detained at the railway station in Yekaterinburg. That same day, she signed a recognizance agreement.
