On August 9, 2019, Karpinsk City Prosecutor Andrei Arzhakhovsky approved the final document in which investigators summarized the charges against Aleksandr Prianikov, Darya and Venera Dulova, suspected of practicing the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses. The case now goes to court: see details of the hearings in the process chronicle (in Russian).
On May 30, 2019, in the town of Karpinsk (Sverdlovsk region), a criminal case was initiated against 19-year-old Darya Dulova solely on religious grounds. Investigators believe that she professes the views of Jehovah's Witnesses. For the same reason, her disabled mother has been under a recognisance agreement for a year.
On April 16, 2019, in Karpinsk, Sverdlovsk region, the house and a car of Aleksandr and Anastasiya Prianikov were searched. Criminal cases against Aleksandr Prianikov as well as a local resident, Venera Dulova, were opened.
The Supreme Court decision has caused a wave of aggressive, threatening acts against Jehovah’s Witnesses.
