Four Men Held in Pre-Trial Detention for Their Religious Beliefs Have Been Transferred to House Arrest

Vladimir Alushkin in Penza, Vitaliy Zhuk and Nikolay Polyevodov in Khabarovsk, and Valentin Osadchuk in Vladivostok have all been released from pre-trial detention.

On January 14, 2019, a lower court in Penza transferred 54-year-old Vladimir Alushkin to house arrest after he spent 184 days behind bars. On the same day a regional court in Khabarovsk released Vitaliy Zhuk and Nikolay Polevodov after they each spent 66 days in detention.

On January 18, 2019, Valentin Osadchuk of Vladivostok was transferred by an appellate court to house arrest after he spent 275 days in detention.
